Fans who have seen the recent Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War announcement have noticed Frank Woods sounds different. Indeed, Activision has replaced the Original Frank Woods actor James C Burns. He has been reprising his role for quite a while. However, this time, it seems Activision released him from his contract without proper notice.
In a recent interview, the original Frank Woods actor has expressed his disappointment. Burns said, “I’m sure the story’s going to be **** brilliant.” He then continued: “It’s just that if I could have brought all that I know… (…). Not a knock on whoever they got in to do it, but he doesn’t have the background I have with Woods. (…) I have all this backstory and all this front-loaded stuff… and I know the… man!”
Also, Burns dismissed the myth surrounding his name about fan fiction. In detail, he previously voiced a character in a fan-made map. However, he insists this doesn’t amount to a breach of his character. Currently, there isn’t any announcement on Activision’s side regarding Burns’ severance. On the other hand, there are lots of fans surprised by the decision as Black Ops Cold War is a direct sequel. Hopefully, in the future, we can see stuff to make us digest the recent turn of events.
