Oddworld: Soulstorm is currently under development by Oddworld Inhabitants. Conversely, the independent storytellers have been struggling to get the game into the disc format. However, with the recent deal with Microids, the studio appears to have succeeded in the effort.
The game is quite interesting as it’s a direct sequel for Oddworld: New ‘n’ Tasty (Abe’s Oddysee). Which means there is a 20-year gap between this game and the first one that is loyal to the lore’s spirit. Moreover, Oddworld: Soulstorm will be the second game in a four-part story. In detail, the game will be about Abe’s progress through enslavement to being a possible symbol of change. In other words, the main protagonist has broken the chains of Mudokons and will fight his way through to turn the tides. The plot is set around Abe’s struggle against the ruling class, Glukkons. On the other hand, the studio promises a bigger game with richer action sequences.
The game will be available for PlayStation 5, but also be a timed exclusive for PlayStation 4. However, once the game launches for the former, it will also be available on Epic Store. In the light of the new deal with Microids, the game will also be accessible via game retailers. If you would like to know more about the game, visit the franchise’s website.
