Nier Replicant Remaster to hit PS4, XONE and PC

The Asia-exclusive Nier of 2010 will return for Western audiences.

As a 10th year milestone, Nier Replicant will return to PS4, Xbox One and PC. The brainchild of ToyLogic was an indirect prequel to Nier Automata and an exclusive game to Japan. Apparently, this time the developers are taking a different step and making some changes in the game.

According to ToyLogic, this won’t be a simple remaster. They rather approach it as NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139…, which indicates an entire rebuild for the current gen and PC.  The game will include rewamped score and other audio. Also, the game will include a different character, and possibly a different ending.

Originally, Nier Replicant was published alongside with the Nier Gestalt (widely known as Nier in Europe and USA) for PS3 and Xbox 360. This remaster will also bring Europe and US audiences together with Nier Replicant for the first time. Square Enix will release the game, as ToyLogic will develop. Furthermore, PlatinumGames seems to be involved as Takahisa Taura is on board. Currently, there is no release date.
