According to the developers, the maps will comprise a small array to accompany the launch. On the other hand, Cold War multiplayer will host a plethora of game modes to make the experience fun. Although we can be sure of the return of Domination and TDM, these new modes look interesting too:

  • Combined Arms: This game mode will host 24 players (12v12). Furthermore, there will be vehicles for players to utilise. Additionally, this game mode will have integrations like Control, Domination, and Kill Confirmed.
  • VIP Escort: A smaller mode with a capacity of 6v6. In detail, players will have the task of getting the VIP to safety. Worth mentioning, the VIP will also be one of the players in the game. On the other hand, respawns for the non-VIPs will be restricted.
  • Fireteam: 10 teams of four will contend for victory. The game mode will take place on various maps. Moreover, there will be different game modes like Dirty Bomb. All of these modes are currently pending details.

Treyarch will also refine navigational abilities such as sprinting and jumping. They’re planning to make some changes in the basic controls:

Sprint Take Off – Operators automatically receive a burst of speed when starting a sprint, then settle down to normal sprint speed.
Sliding – Slides start and end in a crouched position for a more believable movement pattern.
Footstep Control – Faster movement makes more noise, while slower movement doesn’t make as much sound. Players can further reduce the sound of their footsteps with the return of the classic Ninja Perk.
Jumping – Expect more natural height in jumps, which briefly slows an operator down as they land.

Furthermore, systems such as Gunsmith and Wildcards will return. The game will release on November 13 with cross-platform and cross-generation support. Moreover, players that purchased the next-gen pack will receive cross-progression across platforms. Treyarch will make the beta accessible soon with PS4 being the first. In detail, PS4 beta will commence on October 8. Xbox and PC players will have access on October 15.
